Help make the installation of your new floor covering fast, easy and worry free by preparing your installation site before our installers arrive.
- Remove ALL breakable and decorative accessories.
- All items in china cabinets and on wall shelving
- All items in bookcases
- All items on closet floors
- All items on beds including bedding
- All plants and lamps
- Because of the unusual nature of the following items, our installers do not move
- Grandfather clocks
- Christmas trees
- Aquariums
- Stereo components
- Large TV's
- Home theater systems or computers
- Filled waterbeds
- Sensitive electronics and machinery
- We cannot (by law) disconnect gas appliances or hot water heaters. This must be done by a licensed plumber. We are not responsible for pulled toilets, pedestal sinks and ice makers.
- Our installers do not shave or cut doors. If the new floor is thicker than your existing floor, door bottoms may rub. Plan in advance to have someone shave or saw the correct amount off the bottom of each door so it does not drag.
- Care will be used while we remove your shoe molding and quarter round, but because of its age, paint or nails some breakage may occur. Replacement of this trim will be at the consumer's expense.
- Temperature of areas to receive floor cover should be a minimum of 70 degrees (Fahrenheit) 48 hours before and after the installation. This is necessary for adequate stretching of carpet and it makes linoleum easier to work with.
- Wood and laminate must acclimate in home for 4-7 days prior to install & adequate humidity levels must be maintained.
- Pianos and pool tables may be moved at an additional cost with no guarantee that they will remain tuned or level.
- It is recommended to paint first. If you’re planning to paint, wallpaper, or do any other remodeling in the room, it’s best to do it before your carpet is installed. Keep extra paint to touch up any post-installation nicks. We are not responsible for repainting these areas.

After Installation
|
To make your flooring look good now and for a long time to come, proper care is essential.
- Vacuum: Our installers will vacuum your new carpet after installation but it is a good idea to vacuum carpet regularly after installation. Your new carpet will contain small fibers from the manufacturing process. This is normal and it is best to vacuum regularly to remove them and to keep your carpet looking new. Some carpet styles require specific care such as the correct vacuum. This information can be found on most manufacturers websites.
- Stains: Clean spills and spots as soon as they occur. Please refer to the care and maintenance instructions for proper care of your particular flooring. You can click this link for general Care and Maintenance tips for many types of flooring.
It’s a good idea to check with us directly to find out if there are other actions we recommend before installation.
